Kithulgala Rainforest Reserve

Kitulgala,located at the bottom of the Ginigathena pass, experiences two monsoons, the South –West and North-West. The Kelani river which flows through the rainforest is ideal for white water rafting. This has made the rainforest a popular tourist destination. The verdant foliage has provided the soil with rare fertility which yields a profusion of flora and has over the years,attractd a myriad of birds, including the Sri Lankan Hanging Parrot and the national bird-the jungle flow.
